So here’s a fun thing that happened.
Since Worm Run’s launch last Thursday, we have noticed that the Game Center numbers and our sales aren’t really matching up.
Thankfully, we installed a data tracking software (don’t worry we can’t track any personal info) called Flurry.
This morning Andy booted up Flurry and noticed the above discrepancy: only 30 sales in China but over 18,000 unique users!
So we figure that since Apple can’t even fight piracy overseas, a small company like us really has no shot. We just need to look for the silver lining.
Those 18,000 weren’t going to buy our game anyway, but our product is still on their device. Hopefully someone, somewhere will recognize our hard work and not steal.
So thank you 30 people of China for not stealing, as well as everyone else. Just remember, not all game companies are huge corporations. We need this income to keep moving forward.
Indies need love, not theft.
